Purchasing Manager



Job Description




Our client is a trade contractor that is looking to hire a Buyer.

The Buyer will be responsible for the end to end purchasing activities that will involve purchasing finished products to support a wide range of projects. As the Buyer, you will be sourcing suppliers, negotiating and managing the end to end Purchasing function. Along with the day to day tactical purchasing, the Buyer will be working closely with the Corporate Purchasing Manager on sourcing strategies and identifying the best products for value. Experience in purchasing electrical products like wires, cables, switches, circuit breakers, transformers  etc. is mandatory for this position. You will be communicating with project manager’s on site to get the job specifications and engage the necessary suppliers.

In order to be an ideal Buyer for this client, you must have experience in purchasing materials for a multi-trade contractor or project based purchasing. You must have experience in working with project managers and distributors to support the project buys. You must have experience in sourcing , supplier relationship management,  negotiating and identifying cost saving opportunities.  The understanding of purchasing as it relates to project requirements is critical for this role. You must have experience in purchasing electrical products and have strong market knowledge pertaining to suppliers and best practices. Along with the right set of technical skills you must have excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
