Legal Administrative Assistant

ILER CAMPBELL LLP is an eight-lawyer law firm supported by a team of law clerks and administrative assistants serving not-for-profit organizations, co‑operatives, small businesses and charities. We are located downtown, at John Street and Richmond Street West, Toronto. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic administrative assistant with at least one to three years experience to join our firm.

If you possess strong organizational skills, professional attitude, willingness to work with others, and good command of written and spoken English, accompanied by strong Microsoft Office skills, please contact us. 

We will train you to use Amicus and LawyerDone Deal, a Web‑based RealtiBuilderSalesTM application.

  1. Provide secretarial assistance to lawyers and law clerks;
  2. Lunchtime switchboard relief, including when Receptionist away on vacation;
  3. Proofread and format legal documents and correspondence;
  4. Provide day‑to‑day administrative support as required, including faxing, photocopying, filing and courier;
  5. Organize hard copy of electronic files;
  6. Other duties as assigned.


  1. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
  2. Multi‑task and prioritize effectively;
  3. Develop an understanding of basic legal concepts and processes;
  4. Demonstrate ability to work well independently as well as with colleagues;
  5. Have knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook;
  6. Accurate, thorough and strict attention to detail and respecting procedures.
