The Distribution Coordinator plays a key role in providing communication, analytical, and administrative support to the distribution function across the A&W system. Based at the corporate home office in North Vancouver, the Distribution Coordinator reports to the Distribution Manager & Environmental Initiatives Leader. This role works closely with the Brand Services Coordinator as well as with A&W’s franchisees, distribution supplier partners and representatives of A&W’s Purchasing & Distribution, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams. The Distribution Coordinator is responsible for tracking a wide range of data and for addressing supply chain issues in a proactive and timely manner that informs and involves appropriate stakeholders to ensure that distribution system effectively supports the success of A&W restaurants. This position is responsible for various activities, including: collecting, preparing and analyzing data from diverse internal and external sources; generating relevant reports to support decision-making; providing problem-solving support to ensure resolution of supply chain issues; and updating the Purchasing & Distribution databases. The Distribution Coordinator takes initiative and exercises sound judgment to determine when and how to appropriately involve others to resolve problems, optimize opportunities, and mitigate risk.
The candidate must have a high sense of urgency, a drive for results, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and diplomacy. With strong business acumen and excellent judgment, the candidate must have excellent quantitative skills, a high level of proficiency in Excel and exceptional administrative, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and time-management kills. A self-starter and team player, the candidate must have the ability to anticipate system impacts and the instinct to know when and how to appropriately escalate issues. Calm and clear thinking under pressure, the candidate must have a deep commitment to proactive problem solving and a desire to deliver superb customer service. The candidate must have a post-secondary degree in Commerce or Business Administration, excellent influencing and project management skills, and the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Ideally, the candidate has had at least 2 years of office experience in a dynamic setting.
