Position: ​Logistics Coordinator

Term of Employment: ​Full Time, Permanent

Reporting To: ​Transport Logistics Supervisor

Location: ​Wallenstein

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Transport Logistics Supervisor, this position is responsible for dispatching feed across the province and where required, coordinating back hauls.  This area of our business is developing rapidly in the area of technology.  The incumbent will need to be someone who is comfortable with constantly evolving software and processes.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Dispatch loads (using software tools provided) in a manner which maximizes equipment and staffefficiency

• Run system reports as necessary

• Manage daily work load scheduling, deliveries, loading and backhauls

• Keep the drivers within legal limits while on the road (HOS)

• Communicate with staff customer specific needs

• Communicate with CSRs/Care Coordinators to ensure customer service needs are met

• Communicate with Maintenance Coordinator to meet scheduled repairs and adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule

• Abide by all relevant legislation

• Work with Transport Supervisors to maintain staff schedule and staff requirements

• Track and trace loads when required and report on by truck performance

• Advise drivers of route and weather conditions

• Adhere to all sequencing requirements for technical risk and HACCP programs

• Handle after hours phone calls as required

• Participate in setting the dispatch meeting agenda

• Other duties as assigned

WFS Organizational Responsibilities:

• Cooperate with other WFS departments to share information and make efficient use of resources

• Participate as a member of the WFS staff team and attend company meetings as appropriate

• Experience with and knowledge of feed transport trucks and delivery is an asset
