Director, Procurement

Federated Co-operatives Limited has created a transformational leadership role in a new centre-led procurement function within our team. We are hiring for the role of Director, Procurement at our Home Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The Director, Procurement is a thoughtful, high-energy, collaborative, driven and disciplined transformational leader eager to identify, develop and execute on new opportunities. You will be responsible for the strategic vision and transformation from a decentralized, tactical procurement organization to a balanced, center-led procurement operating model that is more strategic, competitive and agile in nature. We expect our new model will extract benefits from leveraging enterprise-wide governance, planning, spend and efficiencies associated with central and shared processes, resources and infrastructure while better enabling our business units to deliver more value to our customers.

You will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a relevant field. You have a minimum of 10+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in procurement, including experience in direct and indirect procurement, procurement management/center of excellence, supply chain and development, strategic sourcing, category/commodity management, and supplier management. Best practice retail and wholesale experience is an asset. Experience in manufacturing, energy, health and pharma is also considered beneficial (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered). Additionally, it is beneficial to have an MBA/Master’s degree in Business, CPA or Supply Chain Management (e.g. SCMP) designation, Finance, or Operations Management, or certificates in procurement, supply management, inventory management, Lean/Six Sigma, or operational planning.
