Procurement Specialist

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Capital Planning and Development branch is seeking an experienced, detail oriented and driven individual for the regular full-time position of Procurement Specialist.

Reporting to the Manager, Capital Planning and Development, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for: providing procurement management services to Legislative Assembly Branches (Branches) on all aspects of the procurement life cycle; providing specialist advice and procurement and contract management policy support; ensuring Branches’ procurement processes are in accordance with the Legislative Assembly’s policy and procedures; acting as a liaison between the government’s Procurement Service Branch (PSB) and the Assembly; monitoring emerging best procurement practices, and reporting back to the Manager.

Applicants must have a degree, diploma, designation, or equivalent in related field (i.e. procurement and contract management learning and development, risk management or law), and experience in the full procurement life cycle and analyzing complex issues, evaluating options, and recommending solutions.
