Section Manager - Inventory Management and Warehousing

Reporting to the Supplies & Risk Management Manager, this regular full time position involves the management and supervisory responsibility for the District’s Inventory and Stores operation.  As the successful candidate you will be a solid leader who has experience operating with established policies and budget constraints while using considerable judgement to optimize resources and make key decisions.

You will play a key role in developing and maintaining inventory records in the District’s ERP system, including planning, testing and business process mapping of all Inventory Management functionality; exploring and implementing enhanced functionality of existing ERP and other inventory management systems; research and lead in implementing changes to current materials management policies and practices; and liaise with and provide assistance to various departments and staff on matters relating to supply management, logistics, warehousing and inventory controls.

You are well-versed in current inventory and warehousing best practices and have the ability to analyse statistical data and prepare reports. You take pride in the work and relationships that you create and seek to understand and meet customer needs in a proactive way. You are a talented team leader with experience motivating performance and building cohesion.

You have a minimum of five (5) years related inventory and warehousing experience, in a management or supervisory capacity; an SCMP, CSCP, or CPIM designation; and relevant education in inventory and warehouse management.  Experience in fuel management systems, and strong MS Excel skills, would be an asset.
