Working with our client in Toronto, OfficeTeam is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join its team. This is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate sought for this role will have exceptional leadership and project management skills and a high degree of accuracy. As a key member of the team, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of the procurement function.


Key accountabilities involved may include, but are not limited to the following:

* Facilitate procurement planning by working with other business units to implement strategies
* Manage procurement process in agreement with procurement policies and standards 
* Manage preparation of contract amendments, ensure references to terms, conditions, appendices and other relevant documentation is accurately referenced
* Manage all correspondence throughout the procurement process with internal and external stakeholders
* Negotiate favorable prices and terms for the delivery of goods and services
* Review and approve purchase requisitions 
* Prepare reports on procurement performance as required



* 6 or more years of experience in public procurement
* Strong understanding of the legal risks of procurement
* University Degree in a business-related field
* Able to organize and manage a high level of volume with competing deadlines
* Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated experience with contracts, statement of work, formal reports, and other correspondence
